Angie Thomas, award winning author of The Hate You Give and On the Come Up has just announced that On The Come Up will be made into a movie just as The Hate You Give was. The Hate You Give, starring actress Amandla Stenberg, brought in 34.9 million dollars from the box office and scored 97% on Rotten Tomatoes. Director George Tillman Jr. will be returning for On The Come Up.
On The Come Up is the story of aspiring rapper Bri and her struggle with being who everyone wants her to be. I loved reading this book, and I am so excited that it's being adapted into a movie.
